Serendipity
My mathematics reflection journal made me found a way to greet my life.
QUS:[Suppose you have landed your dream job/ position. You are drawing your desired salary and am learning as well as gaining good exposure from this current job. But there is one issue: After working for a couple of months, you found that your supervisor seems to be depending on you to complete project(s) and was often not able to provide you much guidance. After you complete a project, he/she would often say “See, you have learnt”. And he/she often request to be in the same team as you and preside as the team leader doing the presentation. What you would do in such a circumstance?]
ANSWER:
After a series of reflection, I really could not figure out. Until today, when I was about to give up the submission of my reflection journal, my colleague came to me and apologise for what he have done in order to kick me out of the company today. When he apologise, I felt guilty as he had done this to me because he seen me as a threat; which may result him to lose his job in the competition. After all, if I have been less aggressive in work, he could have a chance to perform well too. I find that working together instead of fight out, would create the harmony in work field which benefit both side.
Since I have my dream job with a desired salary, I would prefer to endure through this hardship. However I understand that if I tolerate the acts of my supervisor, I will never be able accomplishes and gain recognition from others. Beside if there is no participation coming from the supervisor, how come I consider what I have done as a team work. Therefore I believe that as a team member, I am responsible for his act as well because I have to approach, communicate and motivate him to do work. In this case, collaboration between both parties is very important. This is the best solution I thought so far. If he does not take his initiative, then I will take that step forward. It is my choice.
It is a breakthrough in my life toward the sight of competition. It took me sometime in life to another window with a beautiful sight.
